For the first time Samantha going to act in a mythological film titled as Shakuntalam directing by Gunasekhar. This film's motion poster is released on January 1 and the direction mentioned that this Telugu film is going to be a mythology for millennials.
Shakuntalam movie is going to be released as pan Indian film Mani Sharma is the music director. Before this film Gunasekhar committed to do a film with Rana titled as a Hiranyakashipu and it has been kept in hold. The story of this film is an epic writing , written by kalidas in Sanskrit as Abhijanana Shakuntalam.
Samantha in her Instagram said that she is going to prepare for this movie. She also posted a photo on feb 27 in her Instagram about this film. Director Gunasekhar is a screen writer as well who works for Telugu films. He received several Nandi awards and National film Award. He is from Narsipatnam, Andhra Pradesh. For Okkadu movie directed by him received 8 Nandi awards, and Best director film fare award to him. This film later remaked in so many Indian Languages. Rudhramadevi is his latest film released in the year 2015 and received positive response and this film because big hit in that year.
